What is Self Care Food?
We are an innovative meal prep company from Belgium.
While there are other companies that provide meal prep services, none of them deliver outside their city.
At Self Care Food, we allow you to pick from our different food packs that we create with 10 different tasty dishes every week, or you can build out your own menu from our list of best seller dishes; a luxury we are the first in the industry to provide.
We do not limit our clients on choices and do not believe in a “One size fits all” approach. We understand that every client is different and has different needs and goals.
What sets Self Care apart?
We only use fresh and high quality ingredients in all of our meals.
All of our meat is fresh and never frozen.
Our grains and vegetables are delivered on a daily basis, and mostly organic.
ORDER PROCESS
How can I get started with a Self Care Food plan?
Simply by choosing your preferred option on the Food page and following the instructions until your order has been confirmed.
How much will it cost?
All pricing options are listed on each of our Package pages.
What is the typical turnaround time when I place my order?
Orders usually start every Monday.
Please keep in mind Saturdays and Sundays are not business days, so if you want to receive your Self Care Food on the following Monday, make sure you place your order before Friday 6pm.
FOOD & NUTRITION
Will I need to prepare my food?
Every meal is individually packaged and ready-to-eat.
Our packaging is specifically designed to be reheated, all of our food is served in a microwaveable container.
Self Care Food is not just about tailored nutrition and results, it is also about time-saving and convenience.
What food can I expect?
NB: We do not use any processed sugar.
Who makes the food?
A team of trained professional chefs with the assistance of kitchen personnel who all have been trained in food safety and preparation to respect AFSCA’s highest policy.
Do you use any preservatives and is my food ever frozen?
We keep our meals extremely healthy and clean. We use absolutely no preservatives in our food.
All of your food is cooked fresh to order as we receive shipments of fresh ingredients on a daily basis.
We do not freeze any food whatsoever for use on a later date; we don’t believe in leftovers.
What is the shelf life of the meals?
The meals stay fresh for up to 4 days if kept refrigerated.
We do not recommend freezing the meals, but if you do not plan on eating all of them or have no other choice, you can keep them frozen until you’re ready to consume them.
However, it is best not keep them frozen for more than 3 weeks.
NB: the meals taste superior when eaten Fresh!
Can you offer Halal food?
What if I am pescatarian, vegetarian or vegan?
Are your meals suitable for Gluten-free and Lactose-free diets?
Self Care Food is 100% Lactose-free.
Even though, some of our meals are Gluten-free, we cannot provide 100% gluten-free menus. However, you can select the ones that suit your diet from our list of Self Care Signature Meals.
How do I heat my meals?
Our food trays are 100% safe for microwave use.
You simply need to pull the little opening on the lid when heating any meal in the container.
PAYMENT & DELIVERY
What is the minimum I have to order for a delivery?
Select a Self Care pack, or 10 Signature Meals minimum per delivery.
Where do you deliver, and how does delivery work?
We deliver to our collection points accross Brussels.
Please note that delivery charges can apply if you request home delivery.
For all other European countries, we will be operational soon to deliver to you. Just some more patience!
What are your shipping rates?
Delivery to one of our pick up point is free of charge.
However, if you request home delivery, this will add an extra cost to the total price. This can be determined once you add your address to your order or you can send us an email before placing your order to request a quotation for home delivery.
What is your shipping schedule?
We ship on Monday’s and Thursday’s.
If your package was shipped on Friday and it does not arrive, it will sit in a warehouse until Monday; by then the food would be spoiled.
Our delivery partner company also does not pick up packages from businesses on Saturday and they do not operate on Sunday; this is their policy not ours.
What happens if I don’t pick up my order in the time frame provided?
If you are unable to pick-up your order due to unforeseen circumstances please let us know at the earliest.
Unfortunately, if you fail to collect your meals in the agreed time frame – Self Care is not liable for any damages and no replacements will be provided…
How many meals can be shipped in a container?
We can fit up to 24 meals per box. Any orders above 24 meals will be split in two different shipments (therefore two shipping charges).
What are the different payment methods?
As for now, we offer two payment methods: Paypal, or direct bank transfer.
If you select direct bank transfer, please keep in mind it can take up to 3 business days for the money to be transferred to our bank account.
Our kitchen team will only process your order when the money has arrived on our bank account.
